Jeff Pu, an analyst at GF Securities, highlighted in a research report that Apple might ink a chip foundry cooperation deal with Intel by 2028. Intel is set to leverage its 14A process technology to craft chips for certain non-Pro variants of Apple's iPhones. Specifically, the A22 chips are anticipated to feature in models like the iPhone 20 and iPhone 20e. It's worth noting that Apple will continue to hold the reins over chip design, with Intel solely handling the manufacturing side of things. Initially, Intel's share in chip foundry will be modest, and TSMC is expected to retain its position as Apple's primary chip foundry. Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also forecasted that Intel would start supplying low-end M-series chips for select Mac and iPad models as early as mid-2027.
