Samsung Electronics plans to start testing extreme ultraviolet lithography equipment at its Taylor wafer fabrication plant in Texas, the United States, in March 2026, in preparation for the mass production of the 2nm process in the second half of the year. Based on a US$16.5 billion contract signed in July 2025, the plant will produce Tesla's AI5 and AI6 autonomous driving chips, with an initial monthly production capacity target of 50,000 wafers.
