India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has given the nod to the third tranche of project applications submitted under the nation's Electronic Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). These projects, with a cumulative value of roughly INR 418.63 billion, are geared towards bolstering the domestic production of electronic components. Among the approved projects are proposals from industry giants like Samsung and Tata Electronics, encompassing 11 distinct product categories. These initiatives are set to play a pivotal role in fortifying domestic supply chains and curbing India's dependence on imported electronic components. By March 2025, the output value of India's electronics manufacturing sector is projected to have soared to approximately USD 125 billion.
