As reported by Taiwan's Commercial Times, manufacturers of storage modules have disclosed that the current scarcity of NAND is significantly more acute than previously anticipated. Numerous counterparts find themselves with inventory levels only sufficient to sustain operations until the first quarter of 2026. Commencing in March, certain producers will deplete their stockpiles, unable to fulfill deliveries, with the shortage predicted to escalate into a widespread issue after the second quarter. The prices of NAND have witnessed a dramatic surge, exemplified by Micron's recent NAND price quotation, which soared nearly 50% within a single month. Module manufacturers harbor concerns that the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) might implement further price adjustments prior to shipment, potentially resulting in cost inversions. Consequently, they have opted to adopt the Open Order (floating quotation) approach for order acceptance.
