On December 9, international media outlets reported that Johny Srouji, Apple's senior executive overseeing chip development, addressed his team on Monday, reaffirming his commitment to staying with the company for the foreseeable future. This announcement comes amid swirling speculation about his potential departure, which had raised concerns over further management upheaval at Apple.
In a memo circulated within his department, Srouji wrote: "I'm aware of the widespread rumors and conjectures regarding my future at Apple. I want to set the record straight—I deeply value my team and my role here, and I have no intentions of leaving anytime soon."
Earlier reports, citing insiders with knowledge of the situation, had suggested that Srouji, who serves as Apple's Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, had informed CEO Tim Cook of his contemplation to step down in the near future. In response, Cook swiftly took steps to retain Srouji, including proposing a lucrative compensation package and the prospect of additional responsibilities down the line.
