As per reports, Pat Gelsinger, the ex - CEO of Intel, recently expressed his distinct perspectives on the ongoing AI craze in an interview. He posits that the AI industry's swift expansion could be on the verge of a bubble collapse, driven by significant strides in quantum technology. He anticipates that quantum computers will achieve mainstream status sooner than the market currently anticipates. Gelsinger labeled traditional computing, AI computing, and quantum computing as the "Holy Trinity" within the computational realm. He highlighted that while NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, estimates that the widespread implementation of quantum computing will take a minimum of two decades, Gelsinger contends that this transition might occur in merely around two years. Gelsinger further elaborated that although the AI bubble won't burst instantaneously, advancements in quantum technology will mark a pivotal turning point. He foresees that the GPU chips, which the AI industry presently heavily depends on, will be incrementally replaced by quantum technology before the close of this century.
