JinkoSolar: Projected Global Energy Storage Installed Capacity Demand to Surpass 400GWh Next Year; Energy Storage System Shipment Goal to Double

On November 28, JinkoSolar revealed in the investor relations activity transcript that the global demand for installed energy storage capacity is anticipated to exceed 400GWh in the coming year. It is expected to maintain a compound annual growth rate of over 30% until 2030. This year, the company has set a shipment target of 6GWh for its energy storage systems, with overseas shipments projected to constitute more than 80% of the total. Moving into next year, the company aims to double this shipment target.

In terms of battery cells, JinkoSolar currently boasts a production capacity of 5GWh. Looking ahead, the proportion of battery cells supplied in-house will remain capped at 40%. The company has also secured the next-generation 58XAh battery cell technology and has successfully commenced offline production on its pilot line. Moreover, leveraging the TOPCon technology platform and incorporating novel passivation contact technologies, JinkoSolar has established a new global benchmark for cells, attaining a cell conversion efficiency of 27.79%.
