Samsung and NVIDIA are on the verge of wrapping up their negotiations regarding the pricing of HBM4 memory. Samsung has established an objective to align its prices with those of SK Hynix, with the intention of boosting the average selling price of its HBM products. Earlier, owing to delays in certification, Samsung's HBM3E had to clear its inventory at relatively low prices. At present, with a sudden upsurge in demand for HBM4, Samsung is formulating plans to ramp up its production capacity for 1c DRAM. The company anticipates that by the second quarter of 2026, the production volume will reach 140,000 wafers, and it is projected to further escalate to 200,000 wafers in the fourth quarter. This strategic move is aimed at gaining the upper hand in the HBM4 market and strengthening its position in the high-end memory sector.
