Insiders with knowledge of the situation reveal that Samsung Electronics has already implemented price increases for certain memory chips this month. This move is a direct response to the supply constraints stemming from the worldwide surge in constructing AI data centers. As a result, compared to September, the prices have surged by as much as 60%. To be more specific, the contract price for a 32GB DDR5 memory chip module has seen a significant jump, rising from $149 in September to $239 in November. Meanwhile, the prices of 16GB and 128GB DDR5 chips have also witnessed a substantial increase, climbing by roughly 50% each.
