According to industry insiders and supply chain sources, the booming demand for tantalum capacitors, fueled by AI applications, has prompted Kemet—a subsidiary of passive component behemoth Yageo Group—to issue a price increase notice to its customers. The company announced that, starting from November 1st, prices for tantalum capacitors will rise by 20% to 30%. This marks Kemet's second price hike this year, with the range of the increase extending from agents to encompass direct sales customers as well.
