A representative from Japan's Honda Motor Company announced that, owing to the ongoing scarcity of chip supplies, several of Honda's North American facilities will temporarily scale back production or even suspend operations. However, the representative did not elaborate on which specific plants are facing the most severe impacts. Earlier in the month, Netherlands-based Nexperia halted product exports from China, sparking widespread concerns within the global automotive sector regarding potential chip shortages. It is anticipated that this issue will have a ripple effect across the world. Although Nexperia does not manufacture state-of-the-art chips, it commands a substantial market share in the automotive basic chip sector.
