South Korean semiconductor giant SK Hynix reported a remarkable 62% year-on-year surge in operating profit for the third quarter of this year, soaring to KRW 11.4 trillion, while sales rose to KRW 24.45 trillion, slightly exceeding analyst forecasts. As the leading supplier of Nvidia’s HBM chips, SK Hynix is set to begin delivering next-generation HBM4 chips this quarter. The company has outlined plans to ramp up production capacity in the coming year, with orders for its complete range of DRAM and NAND products already sold out for 2026. Consequently, its pre-market stock price jumped by as much as 4.1%. Analysts point out that, in addition to robust demand from hyperscale data centers, the progression of large-scale projects will further fuel HBM demand. Simultaneously, the explosive growth in AI applications is spurring an uptick in enterprise-grade SSD sales, delivering a positive outlook for SK Hynix.
