On October 28, 2025, China marked a momentous stride in next-generation photovoltaic technology. The research team, spearheaded by Tan Hairen from Nanjing University and in collaboration with the group led by Chang Chao from the National Defense Technology Innovation Research Institute, harnessed terahertz technology to carry out precise, non-destructive detection of the internal carrier transport dynamics within all-perovskite tandem photovoltaic cells. By implementing groundbreaking strategies, such as the design of dipole passivation layers, the enhanced cell attained a remarkable photoelectric conversion efficiency of 30.1%. The pertinent research outcomes were published in the globally renowned and highly authoritative journal Nature. This study not only paves a fresh avenue for the design of high-efficiency photovoltaic materials but also propels the industrialization of perovskite cells forward.
