Apple's A-series and M-series processors have consistently stood out in the tech arena, celebrated for their unmatched single-core prowess. The latest addition to this illustrious lineup, the M5 chip, continues to uphold this legacy. According to rigorous testing carried out by tech enthusiasts on Tieba, leveraging the CPU-Z ARM64 version on Windows 11, the M5 chip has achieved an extraordinary single-core score of 1600 points. This remarkable feat places it significantly ahead of its rivals, including AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm. Specifically, the i9-14900KS managed a peak single-core score of 952 points, while the Ryzen 9 9950X3D scored 867 points. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, on the other hand, fell short of the 800-point mark. Even accounting for potential performance variances in the testing environment, the M5 has undeniably set a new benchmark for single-core performance excellence.

Turning our attention to multi-core performance, the M5's configuration, boasting a 10-core architecture (comprising 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores), did not claim the top spot in the scoring hierarchy. Nevertheless, GeekBench tests revealed impressive figures, with the M5 attaining 4263 points in single-core tests and a robust 17862 points in multi-core performance. These results mark a substantial leap over its predecessor, the M4, with GPU performance witnessing a notable 33% uplift.
