On October 23, during a survey aimed at specific entities, Star Semi disclosed that the company has successfully achieved large-scale utilization of mid-to-high-end chips in its core business operations. Tailored high-end products designed for burgeoning sectors like intelligent robots, automotive LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), and edge computing have generated initial R&D (Research and Development) outcomes and are poised for intensive launch in the upcoming years. By that time, the proportion of mid-to-high-end chip shipments is anticipated to escalate further, and with the enhancement of the product portfolio, the gross profit margin is also projected to climb. In response to the escalating prices of memory chips, the company will implement price adjustments for certain products during the fourth quarter. Presently, the engineering prototypes of the SPAD-SoC (Single Photon Avalanche Diode - System on Chip) chip for automotive primary LiDAR are available and are undergoing customer validation and on-vehicle testing, with mass production slated for the following year. Furthermore, chips intended for automotive and robot blind-spot detection radar are expected to commence tape-out production in the coming year.
