On Wednesday, Moon Shin-hak, the First Vice Minister of South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, announced that the expansion of the global artificial intelligence (AI) market has spurred a surge in demand for advanced semiconductors. He projected that South Korea's chip exports would reach new all-time highs for two consecutive years, with 2025 marking another milestone. Speaking at the 18th Semiconductor Day event, he elaborated that semiconductor exports are projected to exceed US$165 billion this year, shattering the previous record once again.
