Recently, NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, shared an intriguing anecdote about his company’s relationship with Intel during an interview with Jim Cramer, host of the Mad Money program. With a touch of humor, Huang noted that Intel had dedicated 33 years to trying to outperform NVIDIA, but now the dynamics have shifted—the two tech giants have moved from being fierce competitors to becoming strategic partners.

This year in September, the two companies signed a landmark cooperation agreement valued at $5 billion. The deal focuses on developing custom chip solutions tailored for hyperscale data centers, enterprise-level applications, and consumer markets. Huang playfully described this new chapter in their relationship by saying, “we are lovers, not rivals,” though in a business context, “allies” might be a more fitting term. He emphasized that this partnership was built not only on his personal friendship with Intel’s current CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, but also on the mutual interests both companies share in the rapidly growing AI hardware market.

Through this collaboration, NVIDIA and Intel are set to introduce two innovative products, marking the beginning of what promises to be a powerful alliance in the tech industry.
