NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently voiced his concerns, stating that if the policy proposed by the Trump administration to hike the H-1B visa application fee to a staggering $100,000 had been implemented during his family's immigration to the United States in his childhood, they simply would not have been able to afford it. Consequently, he and his family would have been unable to make the move to the U.S. Huang expressed his admiration for the 'American Dream,' emphasizing that immigration serves as a fundamental pillar in realizing this dream. While he acknowledged that increasing visa fees could potentially aid U.S. companies in attracting top-tier global talent, he also expressed his hope for future policies to undergo further refinement and enhancement.

On September 19 of this year, President Trump signed an executive order introducing a hefty $100,000 application fee for H-1B visas. This move sparked widespread concerns within immigrant communities, particularly those within the tech industry. Subsequently, the government clarified that this exorbitant fee would only be applicable to new visa applications. Previously, Huang had regarded the plan as a 'good start,' yet he also highlighted that the proposed fee threshold might be excessively high.

NVIDIA has pledged to fully cover the visa fees for its employees holding H-1B visas. Currently, the company has over 1,400 employees who have been approved for H-1B visas. In a memo, Huang underscored the critical importance of immigration to NVIDIA's success and growth.
