On September 29, 2025, during the GMIF 2025 Innovation Summit, Kevin Yoon, the Vice President of Samsung Electronics, unveiled the company's lineup of next-generation AI storage solutions. This includes CXL memory modules and ultra-high-capacity solid-state drives (SSDs). Samsung has already commenced mass production of CXL 2.0 CMM memory modules. Moreover, it has set its sights on introducing the CXL 3.1/PCIe 6.0 CMM-D solution in 2026.
Furthermore, Samsung is slated to roll out the PCIe 6.0 solid-state drive, the PM1763, in early 2026. This new SSD promises to double performance while curbing power consumption to just 25W, marking a significant 60% leap in energy efficiency.
To cater to the burgeoning demand for ultra-high-capacity storage, Samsung has outlined plans to introduce 256TB and 512TB EDSFF solid-state drives within the next two years. In parallel, the company is actively developing seventh-generation Z-NAND technology, aiming to further bolster the performance of GPU active direct storage.
