On September 25, sources revealed that TSMC is poised to start building its new 1.4nm fabrication plant in the Central Taiwan Science Park during the fourth quarter of 2025. The contractor for this project has yet to be finalized. As part of the park's second-phase expansion, four advanced 1.4nm process wafer fabrication facilities will be constructed. The first of these is anticipated to commence trial production in 2027 and shift to mass production in the latter half of 2028, positioning it among the most cutting-edge processes in the world at that juncture.
