On September 24, 2025, the three major A-share indices kicked off the trading day on a weak note, all opening in the red (in financial terms, "opening lower" implies a negative start). The Shanghai Composite Index recorded a decline of 0.45%, while the Shenzhen Component Index witnessed a drop of 0.63%. The ChiNext Index, known for its focus on high-growth and innovative enterprises, also suffered, slipping by 0.79%.

The optical module and semiconductor sectors emerged as the primary drivers of the downturn. In the optical module arena, Tianfu Communication experienced a significant sell-off, with its share price plummeting by over 5%. Zhongji Innolight and Cambridge Technology were not far behind, both witnessing declines exceeding 4%. Luxshare Precision and Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment also faced downward pressure, with their stock prices falling by more than 2%.

On the flip side, Moore Threads and the oil and gas exploration concept stood out as bright spots. HeerTai, a key player in the relevant field, surged to its daily limit, indicating strong buying interest. Meanwhile, Tongyuan Petroleum, associated with the oil and gas exploration sector, saw its share price rise by more than 7%, adding a touch of optimism to an otherwise gloomy market landscape.
