To tackle the challenge of electrode-limited conduction, Professor Zhou Di's research team at Xi'an Jiaotong University has put forward a simple yet effective approach. They deposit a thin layer containing SiO onto the surface of commercially available PET films using a self-assembled inorganic nanolayer coating technique. Additionally, they employ P(VDF-HFP) as both a dispersing medium and an adhesive layer to strengthen the interfacial bonding. Experimental results demonstrate that this coating significantly elevates the Schottky barrier on the polymer surface, thereby inhibiting carrier injection. Consequently, it markedly improves the energy storage performance of dielectric polymers, especially at elevated temperatures.
