In September 2025, as the clock ticks down to the impending cobalt export embargo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the majority of cobalt intermediate producers have ceased providing quotations. Simultaneously, a number of manufacturers have been compelled to suspend production owing to a scarcity of raw materials. Should the embargo be prolonged, cobalt prices are poised to experience a dramatic surge in the near term. China Molybdenum Co., Ltd. has declared its intention to judiciously release resources in alignment with local regulations, whereas Hanrui Cobalt is meticulously managing its order intake to regulate sales momentum. Presently, the cobalt raw material reserves of most domestic producers are anticipated to endure until the conclusion of the year.
