The Chinese manufacturer LattePanda has unveiled its newest x86 single-board computer, the LattePanda Iota. This model not only demonstrates a marked superiority over the Raspberry Pi 5 in performance evaluations but also positions itself as a formidable contender, thanks to its complete compatibility with the x86 architecture. At its core, the LattePanda Iota is driven by an Intel N150 SoC processor. This processor is equipped with four Gracemont E-Cores, capable of reaching a maximum turbo frequency of 3.6GHz. Such specifications endow it with a CPU performance that is up to eight times greater than that of its forerunner, the V1. Memory-wise, it can be configured with up to 16GB of ECC LPDDR5 RAM and offers storage options of up to 128GB via eMMC 5.1. It supports both Windows and Linux operating systems. Despite its compact dimensions of 88mm×70mm, the LattePanda Iota adheres to the design principles established by the V1. It comes furnished with a variety of interfaces, including three USB 3.2 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.1 output. Pricing for the base model, which includes 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, starts at $130. However, those wishing to utilize a Windows IoT system will need to acquire an additional license, costing an extra $60.
