CATL's Zeng Yuqun: Company Anticipates Adding 7,000 Patents in This Year

On September 17th, the 2025 World Energy Storage Conference kicked off in Ningde. Centered around the theme of "Entering a New Era of Energy Storage, Paving the Way for a Zero-Carbon Future," the conference is dedicated to advancing the development of a new energy system. During the opening ceremony, Zeng Yuqun, the Chairman of CATL, revealed that since 2014, CATL's cumulative investment in research and development (R&D) has surpassed 80 billion yuan. As of the end of 2024, the total number of patents held by the company, including both granted and pending ones, had reached 43,000. Furthermore, the company expects to secure an additional 7,000 patents this year.
