Loongson Technology recently announced on an interactive platform that the development of its inaugural GPGPU chip, the 9A1000, has reached a significant milestone—it's now essentially complete. The chip is slated for tape - out within the third quarter of 2025. However, its ultimate success will hinge on the outcomes of the tape - out testing. This particular chip is designed as an entry - level graphics card that also supports AI acceleration. In terms of performance, it surpasses the previous generation's integrated graphics card by over fourfold. It packs an impressive AI computing power of 40TOPS. Moreover, Loongson has plans in the pipeline for iterative products, including the upcoming 9A2000 and 9A3000.
