On September 16, MediaTek announced that its flagship system-on-a-chip (SoC), utilizing TSMC's 2-nanometer process, has completed design tape-out. Mass production and market launch are expected by the end of 2026. TSMC's 2-nanometer process adopts a nanosheet transistor structure, offering a 1.2x increase in logic density compared to the existing 3-nanometer process. It achieves an 18% performance improvement at the same power consumption and reduces power consumption by approximately 36% at the same speed.
