SK On has revealed the establishment of a pilot plant for all-solid-state batteries at its Future Technology Institute, situated in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea. This pilot production line is mainly designed to supply trial products to customers, while also facilitating a systematic assessment and validation of product quality and performance. The facility spans around 4,628 square meters. On this new production line, SK On will focus on the development of sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries. Additionally, certain production lines will be dedicated to advancing solid-state lithium metal battery technology. SK On has set an ambitious goal to bring all-solid-state batteries to market by 2029, a year earlier than initially planned.
