On September 15th, media sources revealed that NVIDIA has made a significant shift in its strategy regarding low-power DRAM SOCAMM (System-on-Chip Attached Memory Module) adoption. The company has decided to scrap its initial plan for the first-generation SOCAMM module, known as SOCAMM1, and is now forging ahead with the development of a new, high-speed SOCAMM module, dubbed SOCAMM2. At present, NVIDIA has embarked on a collaborative journey with industry giants Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology to carry out sample testing of the SOCAMM2 module. It's worth noting that Micron Technology previously enjoyed a head start in the SOCAMM1 arena. However, with the advent of SOCAMM2, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are poised to level the playing field and potentially take the lead.
