On September 15, 2025, the three major indices of A-shares kicked off the trading session on a positive note, all opening higher. The Shanghai Composite Index edged up by 0.14%, the Shenzhen Component Index climbed 0.37%, and the ChiNext Index soared by 1.05%.
On the trading floor, the semiconductor sector stole the limelight, with stocks like Nasdaq Micro, Santstate (Shengbang Stock), and Shanghai Belling all hitting their daily upward price limits. The electrical power grid sector also emerged as a leader in terms of gains, with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) seeing its share price surge by more than 6%.
In contrast, the precious metals and catering & tourism sectors were among the worst performers. Western Gold witnessed a nearly 4% drop in its share price, while Lingnan Holdings fell by more than 2%.
