Recently, construction workers at TSMC's new chip manufacturing facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, stumbled upon an unexploded World War II-era bomb for the third time. This particular bomb, highly likely a relic from the U.S. military's operations during the war, has been safely extracted and removed by the appropriate authorities.
At present, TSMC is in the process of constructing five state-of-the-art chip fabrication plants at this location. These facilities are slated to produce advanced process chips with a 2-nanometer scale or even smaller in the future. The inaugural factory, designated as P1, is anticipated to commence mass production by the end of this year, with equipment installation already in full swing. Meanwhile, the construction of the remaining four factories, namely P2, P3, P4, and P5, is also progressing steadily.
