Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the reinvigoration of the "Semiconductor Strategy," aimed at fostering local chip manufacturing, with a projected launch of the first Indian-made chip by the end of 2025. At the annual India Semiconductor Summit held in New Delhi, ASML CEO Peter Wennink conveyed his eagerness to forge a partnership with Indian chip manufacturers within the forthcoming year. The Indian government is expediting the growth of the semiconductor industry through financial incentives, policy overhauls in special economic zones, and international collaborations, aiming to secure a significant share of the global semiconductor market by 2030. Despite hurdles in technology, funding, and infrastructure, the Indian semiconductor industry remains in a period of rapid development.
