Users have consecutively reported damage to two AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processors while utilizing the ASRock B850i Lightning WiFi motherboard. The first incident occurred after six months of use, followed by another within two months of replacing the damaged processor. Despite attempts to resolve the issue by updating the BIOS, the problem persisted. Some industry experts have speculated that irregular BIOS settings on certain motherboards might be to blame and have recommended updating the BIOS to mitigate the risk. In response, ASRock has released a new BIOS version, featuring adjusted voltage settings aimed at enhancing system stability. However, the actual effectiveness of these changes remains to be seen.
