Huawei has unveiled its cutting-edge SSD series tailored for the AI era, the Huawei OceanDisk EX/SP/LC series, engineered to meet the demands of high-performance and large-capacity AI workloads. This series encompasses three categories: ultra-performance, high-performance, and large-capacity drives. The ultra-performance drives excel with a random write speed of up to 1.5 million IOPS, a latency below 7 microseconds, and a durability rating of 60 DWPD, empowering a sixfold increase in the number of fine-tunable model parameters per individual machine. The high-performance drives balance cost-effectiveness with a random write speed of up to 600K IOPS, ideal for inference applications. The large-capacity drives offer a maximum physical storage capacity of 245TB, enabling efficient management of vast data volumes. Furthermore, Huawei has introduced the DiskBooster driver software, which significantly boosts memory capacity by 20 times. Concurrently, Huawei has formed the "AI SSD Innovation Alliance" in collaboration with several industry organizations.
