On August 27, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued a notice emphasizing the need for continuous advancements in core satellite communication technologies. The notice stressed the importance of strengthening research and development in fundamental components, chips, and crucial terminal equipment, aiming to enhance technical performance and minimize user costs. Additionally, it urged the promotion of iterative upgrades in satellite communication technologies. Concurrently, the integration of satellite communications with next-generation information technologies, including 5G/6G and artificial intelligence, must be deepened. Furthermore, the innovative development of advanced satellite communication technologies, such as Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), was highlighted as a priority.
