The first-instance verdict in the case involving Zunpai's misappropriation of Huawei Hisilicon's chip technology trade secrets has become final. The case, overseen by the Shanghai procuratorial organs under the guidance of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, was announced on July 28. None of the 14 defendants filed an appeal within the ten-day window. It is estimated that the illegally acquired Huawei Hisilicon chip technology information in this case is worth up to 317 million yuan. The defendants, including Zhang, were former Hisilicon employees. After departing the company, they established Zunpai and recruited other former Hisilicon staff to illicitly obtain technical information for chip research and development at Zunpai.
