The Supreme Court of South Korea has upheld a ruling, determining that Taiwan-based Everlight Electronics illicitly appropriated LED patent technology from Seoul Semiconductor, a Korean company. Consequently, Everlight Electronics was fined 60 million Korean won (approximately $43,000). Additionally, three former Seoul Semiconductor employees implicated in the case received suspended prison sentences.
