IBM and AMD have inked a cooperation agreement to jointly forge the next generation of computing architecture, centered around the integration of quantum computing and high-performance computing (HPC), dubbed "Quantum-Centric Supercomputing." Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO of IBM, emphasized that by merging IBM's quantum computing prowess with AMD's advanced HPC technology, they will create a robust hybrid computing model that transcends traditional performance boundaries. This innovative architecture will see quantum computers synergize seamlessly with HPC and AI infrastructure, bolstered by computing engines including CPUs and GPUs.
