Chen Zhongwei, a researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his team—which includes Associate Researcher Mao Zhiyu and Professor Feng Jiangtao from Xi'an Jiaotong University—have achieved groundbreaking advancements in battery health management. They have crafted a novel two-stage federated transfer learning framework that adeptly addresses the issues of data scarcity and personalized modeling in predicting the health status of fast-charging batteries. This innovative approach offers fresh perspectives for the field. By sharing model parameters and collaboratively training a global model, the framework ensures the acquisition of general knowledge while safeguarding data privacy. Additionally, it refines the global model using minimal local data to tailor personalized models.
