China Mobile's operating revenue for the first half of 2025 amounted to 543.8 billion yuan, with communication service revenue reaching 467 billion yuan, marking a 0.7% year-on-year increase. Shareholders' attributable profit stood at 84.2 billion yuan, up 5% from the previous year. Chairman Yang Jie noted that despite external pressures, the company's operations have maintained a steady growth trajectory. However, he cautioned that growth in communication service revenue is anticipated to decelerate in the second half of the year, citing insufficient market demand, a decline in mobile phone shipments, and an extended replacement cycle as contributing factors. In response to these challenges, China Mobile has proactively divested itself from inefficient businesses and is now concentrating on high-quality development. Despite the hurdles, the company remains optimistic about its full-year outlook, believing that the improving macroeconomic environment and emerging opportunities in AI and information technology will provide a robust foundation for its continued growth.
