OpenAI announced on Wednesday that it will make the enterprise version of ChatGPT available to all federal administrative agencies in the United States at a symbolic price of $1 within the upcoming year. This initiative allows federal government employees to leverage OpenAI's state-of-the-art large model technology at "no cost" to them. Under the agreement, participating agencies will gain access not only to OpenAI's latest generation of cutting-edge models but also to an array of features, including deep search and advanced voice modes, during a 60-day trial period. To coordinate the specifics of this rollout, OpenAI has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the United States General Services Administration. The primary objective of this collaboration is to enhance government efficiency and allow federal employees to dedicate more time to public services. Additionally, OpenAI is strengthening its relationship with legislators and regulators, with plans to open its first office in Washington, DC, early next year.
