United States Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated on Tuesday that the department has expressed concern regarding the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in personalized airfare pricing and pledged to investigate such practices. Last week, Delta Air Lines assured Congress that it does not utilize AI to establish prices for individual consumers. Buttigieg stressed that any endeavor to personalize pricing based on a passenger's income or status will face stringent intervention from the Department of Transportation.
