A research team led by Professor Ren Xifeng, part of Academician Guo Guangcan's group at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), has achieved a groundbreaking feat in the realm of quantum interconnection. For the first time, the team successfully teleported a quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate between two photonic quantum integrated chips. This accomplishment, published in Physical Review Letters on July 8, represents a significant step forward in realizing core quantum logic operations between photonic quantum integrated chips. It establishes a crucial technical foundation for the construction of large-scale quantum networks and the eventual realization of distributed quantum computing.
