Scientists from the Center of Excellence for Brain Science and Intelligence Technology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, BGI Research, and an international collaboration have jointly achieved a monumental feat: mapping brain atlases from rodents to primates with single-cell precision, marking ten significant breakthroughs. This comprehensive research spans multiple crucial species and, for the first time, encompasses whole-brain connectivity atlases of the prefrontal cortex and claustrum in non-human primates, along with spatial transcriptome atlases of the hippocampus in both healthy individuals and patients with Alzheimer's disease. These accomplishments offer invaluable insights into the mechanisms underlying brain function.
