Germany's Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ulrich Kelber, has called upon Apple and Google to remove the Chinese AI megamodel application "DeepSeek" from their respective German app stores. This demand stems from concerns regarding data security, specifically allegations of "illegal transfer of users' personal data to China." Google has acknowledged receipt of the notice and is currently assessing the situation, whereas Apple has yet to issue a response.
