On June 10, Brazil and China inked a memorandum aimed at bolstering cooperation in the realm of artificial intelligence. Per the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Services of Brazil, this agreement seeks to mitigate AI-related risks, nurture professionals, and foster collaboration in the development of large language models and multimodal systems. Additionally, it will facilitate academic and technical exchanges between universities and research institutions, with an anticipated investment of 23 billion Brazilian reais. The accord is valid for three years and is subject to renewal. The Brazilian government anticipates that this partnership will expedite the digital transformation of domestic industries, drive the widespread adoption of advanced technologies, and positively influence the formulation and execution of public policies.
