The United Kingdom's Office of Communications (Ofcom) has been urged to impose restrictions on Meta's utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) for risk assessment, stemming from concerns regarding its implications for user safety, particularly among minors. In response, Meta clarified that it does not employ AI to make definitive risk decisions but rather as a supplementary tool to bolster content management capabilities. Nonetheless, a former executive disclosed that the deployment of AI for risk assessment could exacerbate risks when new features are introduced.
