On both ends of the spectrum, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Doubao, and PixVerse rank among the top five in global AI app downloads, collectively accounting for 51% of the market share. Notably, ChatGPT's download share surged from 27% in April to 32% in May, demonstrating a remarkable growth trajectory. The remaining four apps exhibit similar download shares, indicating a fiercely competitive market. It's worth mentioning that Genius, which held the fourth position in April, was displaced from the top five in May. Conversely, PixVerse, absent from the list in April, re-entered at the fifth spot, while Doubao climbed to fourth place.
