NVIDIA's Chief Scientist, Bill Daley, recently observed that the United States' export control ban on AI technology to China has paradoxically accelerated the growth of China's AI industry. Daley disclosed that numerous AI researchers who previously contributed to NVIDIA have now transitioned to Huawei. Speaking at the AI National Competitiveness Expo in Washington, Daley noted that these export restrictions have resulted in a significant brain drain of AI R&D talents from China, prompting them to assume pivotal roles within Chinese enterprises. Presently, the share of high-end AI researchers in China nears half of the global total.
