On May 30, Reuters reported that OpenAI asserted on Wednesday its right to pursue its countersuit against Elon Musk, arguing that Musk's motion to dismiss the claims lacked factual foundation. In court documents submitted that evening, OpenAI emphasized that its countersuit, which accuses Musk of alleged fraudulent business practices under California law, should be included in the expedited trial process. Prior to this, Musk had initiated legal action against OpenAI for straying from its original non-profit mission. In response, OpenAI filed a countersuit against Musk, alleging long-term harassment of the company, including malicious propaganda disseminated through media and social media platforms. The legal battle between the two parties continues to intensify, with a jury trial set for next spring.
